Product Controllers are the Financial Guardians of the Bank's sales and trading activities.
We fulfill this role through:
Ensuring complete, accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheets and analysis.
Validating of the value of our trading portfolios.
Working with the businesses and the new business product groups to evaluate & integrate new products and businesses into our financial environment in a controlled manner.
Provisioning of reliable and meaningful financial information to the business managers, external partners and other relevant internal constituents.
You would be responsible for the analysis and advisory aspects of Product Control's primary role which is the financial guardianship of the Bank's sales and trading activities, advising and independently challenging key partners on accounting and valuation matters impacting the financial statements, including daily P&L and balance sheet movements. You would also be responsible for any aspects of inventory valuation, as well as the development and improvement of strategic systems and process improvement at the organization & local levels.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As part of the Valuation Control (Product Control) job family, you will be primarily responsible for executing the independent pricing verification (IPV), aka price testing, of the portfolio. You would be supporting Global Equities division. Primary products include: Cash equities and derivative products. You would work closely with other Valuation Controllers, Business Controllers, traders, bankers, and other support teams as well as Senior Management.
Main responsibilities may include:
You will perform month end and intra month price testing. This will include pricing the portfolio against external transactions, third party vendor pricing, and comparable pricing by benchmarking off pricing of related facilities or comparable companies. For less liquid investments, you may research subject companies, perform enterprise valuation analyses and other appropriate analyses, perform credit analysis, and/or talk to the trading analysts and challenge their models and assumptions when necessary.
You will report commentary and present price testing results at monthly supervisory review meetings.
You will provide ad hoc analysis on request to senior managers in Product Control and in Front Office.
You will craft IPV reporting packs for senior management.
You will establish a pro-active approach, actively seeking to identify valuation issues for investigation and resolution.
You will deliver IPV operational improvements.
You will develop positive relationships with key partners amongst the internal team, Front Office, Risk, and other areas across the business in U.S., Europe and Asia.
You will be having regular interaction with and providing responses to internal and external auditors for both recurring, as well as one-time audits.

Qualifications/Skills and Experience:
Product Controllers should be highly attentive to risk and the importance of a strong control environment and show a high attention to detail in all aspects of their work. They should also possess highly developed analytic, interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to build relationships with their key clients to understand and address their issues.
Each of the following qualifications/ skills and experience are preferred, but not required.
Do you have knowledge of equity derivative products? Knowledge of equity derivative products can include, but is not limited to flow products, structured products, collars, call spreads, cliquets and callable yield notes are a plus. Knowledge of the equity derivative greeks such as delta, gamma, an vega are also a plus and other concepts such as correlation or also a plus.
Do you understand the effects of risk as well as key drivers for valuation and Profit & Loss?
Do you have excellent communication skills, able to articulate issues clearly and succinctly to senior management?
You have the ability to handle IPV processes and deliver IPV improvements.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
